A visit to a Refugee Camp

Refugee homes (camps) have been in the news for a long time and there has been a lot of controversy around these facilities. Our team has visited the refugee camp at Tempelhof Field in Berlin to find out, first hand, the story behind it. Unfortunately, we did not allow anyone to enter the camp unless it’s a request for an individual refugee. It took us by surprise to see the fenced walls around the housing containers; however, we were still able to meet some people.

We met a guy who has lived in the camp for two years. His sister is still in the war zone, meanwhile, he is trying to learn juggle learning German, doing his apprenticeship to be in the job market and looking for a new living space. „If you ask me what’s the hardest time for me, it is now!“ 10 hours, they are going to be back in the temple building. That’s why I’m looking for a new place to live in, it’s hard but I’m not complaining (smiling) „.

Who we, unfortunately, we could not meet, had a wife who passed away on her way to Germany. Despite these stories, we could not but hope that they were trying to get on their way to a normal life in a new country. A group of young people are hanging out in front of the hotel, listening to music on the way to a playground for the kids , They are stronger than any average person. A normal happy life is truly admirable. What do you think about it?
